St. Gilgen in the Salzkammergut region
St. Gilgen is a town full of history and stories. Its name was mentioned the first time at around 800 and has evolved through the centuries from being a small fishing town to becoming a popular holiday destination. Hints of Historic events and famous personalities are never far away as you wander the little streets.
St. Gilgen even has a special connection to Salzburg’s most famous son, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.
